I am VP, Product Development at Ascential, the specialist, global information company that enables smart decision-making for business.

I am also the Founder/Director at The Digital Discovery Group which was set up to provide services including digital strategy, product discovery and development, specialist recruitment and programme delivery.

Before joining Ascential, I worked as Director of Customer Experience at CPA Global, the world’s leading IP management and technology company.

During 2016 and 2017 I was the Principal Product Strategist (and Head of Digital Customer Experience) at Tesco, creating a vision and strategy for the alignment of Tesco’s digital portfolio with particular emphasis on creating a consistent and relevant experience for each customer.

Before joining Tesco I was Director, GOV.UK at the Government Digital Service, a team formed within the Cabinet Office in 2011 to make UK government digital services and information simpler, clearer and faster.

I also worked at the BBC for many years in strategy, local journalism and digital services.  Further details of my career history are on my LinkedIn profile.

I’m a parent governor at St Nicolas Church of England Academy in Nuneaton and previously spent three and a half years as Non-Executive Director of the not for profit organisation Media For Development.

I use Twitter, Facebook, and Flickr infrequently, and in a personal capacity.

I’ve been writing and recording music since 1999 in the band Satchel Blue and we’re still not famous.  Our Best Of album was released in 2015

I also enjoy taking photographs, going running, camping holidays with the family, and finding, then drinking, great whisky.
